Looking to study japanese in japan

Am hoping to spend my next year or so in japan studying. Things seem very confusing and any help from some real people on where to look would be much appreciated. I am very fascinated with the city life of japan and was looking to study in Tokyo preferably. I am roughly the N4 level, maybe lower but planned on continuing independent studies until i leave. I will be 18 this summer if that is important. Overall just looking for a reputable school and a timeline where i can reach a solid conversational level of japanese. ISI and Tokyo central japanese language school are the 2 schools i’ve taken the most interest in thus far. Oops last thing, i value being able to go to the gym often and would love to hear how that would work out. Thank you again for any help and clarity sorry if that was a little too long.

  1. I’d recommend posting this to /r/movingtojapan as well if you don’t get good answers here. A lot of us are just Japanese learners not living in Japan, or who are no longer living in Japan, but that subreddit is specifically for helping people make a move to the country.
