Questions for the ladies..

Hi ladies (or men that know the answer, I’m not fussed).

I’m moving to central Tokyo in July and am looking for recommendations for the following…

– a place for manicures
– a place for cosmetic injectables
– a hair dresser that won’t kill my hair
– a place that will do eyebrow shaping
– a laser clinic

Thank you in advance! 💜🙏🏽

Hi ladies (or men that know the answer, I’m not fussed).

  2. Welcome to Japan!

    * Nail salon: There are literally tens of thousands and they all have a different style. Look on Instagram or HotPepperBeauty to find a salon whose style you’re interested in. (If you can’t speak Japanese it will be an issue most places outside of Roppongi or Shibuya).

    * Can you speak enough Japanese to sign the consent forms for this? If so TCB or SBC are popular. I also had mine done at Lula Clinic once and that was fine, but I went to SBC after because I like their doctors more. If you can’t speak Japanese, you may have trouble getting plastic surgery as while some doctors can speak English, getting through the explanations from the staff may be difficult. There are clinics in Ginza that have translators, but be prepared to pay double for their services. A Clinic is popular with foreign models.

    * Gold Salon and Assort both have good rapport among foreigners and English is no problem there. (I’ve never been to either, just words from my friends)

    * Most hair salons also offer eyebrow shaping. Eyelash extension places do as well.

    * I assume you mean laser hair removal? If so then most plastic surgery clinics also do medical grade laser hair removal. See above about signing consent forms being an issue.

  3. >I’m moving to central Tokyo

“Central Tokyo” is incredibly vague, and by pretty much any possible definition includes hundreds, if not *thousands* of businesses.

This is like saying “I’m moving to Manhattan”.

  4. Elana Jade is really popular amongst English speaking expats for beauty treatments, although I’m not sure they do medical treatments (injectables)

For nails, my favorite nailist is Mariko who has her own studio in Meguro, Riverside Custom Nails. She’s on Line
