Got my offer rescinded today as a new grad and I’m lost

I was called into the office and got my offer rescinded. I just graduated and was supposed to start in April. I quit my part time job and was even preparing to move.

Im very lost as to what I should do now.

I lost my shinsotsu card and I don’t even know if companies are still hiring. I plan to rest for a bit and start looking for whatever I can find left.

If anyone has any similar experiences or advice, please reply. Anything would help.

Edit: I was looking for jobs in the IT industry but now im just looking for anything really as long as its full time. Except for ALT because i dont have any certifications in the field.

  1. It might help to clarify what industry you are looking for support/information in. Perhaps ALT-style work given the time of year?

  2. > Except for ALT because i dont have any certifications in the field.

Neither does anyone else. Seems like that’s a feature rather than a bug.

Sorry you’re dealing with this but get whatever you can to cover your expenses and then keep pushing and looking for something you actually want to do.

  3. What sort of IT job are you looking for? You mention no ALT certifications, do you have IT certs? Which ones? What did you just graduate from? University? Technical school? What did you study and what degree/diploma did you get?

Your English seems good, how’s your Japanese? Have N2? N1? Native? Or?

    What are your salary expectations?

There are always tech jobs out there, this might end up being a blessing in disguise if you handle it well.

  4. Did they offer any explanation why they rescinded? It’s very hard to rescind naitei here since it’s equivalent to firing someone. They must have a good reason to be able to do that.

You can try to fight them, or at least consult with Hellowork. It seems they have consultation line for these cases. Sometimes I see those in the news.
