Trouble buying tickets to the new Harry Potter studios in Tokyo

After waiting in a virtual queue for 8 hours, my turn came up, entered the details and it rejected my payment (Apple Pay), tried with a debit card- rejected. I have access to a UK address and visa – also rejected. I have access to an Aus address, 2 visas and a Mastercard.. all rejected. And then it said I didn’t pay within the time so cancelled the option to pay.

None of these accounts have any issue with funds or being used here in Japan (physically or on websites). There’s no contact us / help / assistance page. I have a JPY credit card but that’s exceeded the limit so I didn’t try that.. could that be the only way to pay? But if so how do people who don’t have a credit card or people living in other countries buy tickets? Is this a Japan thing I’m new to or Warner Bros’ system being broken.

  2. Yes buying ticket through Japanese website is very hard. I tried buying disneysea ticket with both JP credit card and debit card, all rejected. Tried with 2 other foreign country credit card and it’s all rejected. Ended up buying through konbini.

    For people outside Japan, they usually just ask for help from a friend living in Japan, or through an OTA

    I suppose harry potter ticket won’t be any different

  3. Recently some Japanese companies have made it very difficult to use non-Japanese credit cards on their websites. Tokyo Disneyland, Universal Studios Japan, PASMO, Suica have all had recent problems, and some companies like ticket PIA and e+ plus have never accepted them as far as I know. From my experience, Domino’s Pizza accepts foreign cards on their website. It just depends on the company, so I guess the new Harry Potter place doesn’t accept foreign credit cards on their website

  4. im also trying to book after waiting queue for the whole day (started at 6:30 am now its 8:47pm) and sadly they wouldnt accept my payment either tried with my visa and debit card. I did chat with a bot but there were no gents available so I sent them a mail. hopefully this gets sorted out.
