Finishing up Nakama 1, any self study alternatives to Nakama 2?

I’m finishing up Nakama 1 this semester, and overall I’ve liked it, but my college’s JPN courses stop after Nakama 1, and it’s aimed at classroom/group use. I’ve searched some of the older threads on here, but they’re all a half decade or older and mostly recommend Genki II, and I’m wondering if there are any newer alternatives people might recommend.

  1. Genki has its third edition out. IMO Nakama is the better resource for content (Genki is a little bare bones in some areas), but it doesn’t have a lot of integration with other resources

  2. So I did a short course that used Nakama 1 and messaged my teacher to ask her the same thing and she said that it’s comparable to Genki. You can find the second edition books 1 and 2 with their workbooks on the internet archive, along with the answer keys if you want to check if they’ll work for you as well.
