   **Cybersecurity in Japan**

   Hi all – quick background on myself as this will narrow things down –

   * Currently working as a cyber security analyst (not in Japan), 1 year of experience
   * JLPT N3
   * Prior graduate of a Japanese university (think Keio, Sophia, Waseda)
   * Japanese partner (not married but it’s on the horizon)

   I’m still a few years out of wanting to move back to Japan, but I’m putting together a bit of a mental roadmap for a possible move and wanting to know about the state of cyber security currently in the country. I know cyber security in Japan is a bit of an oxymoron but wherever there is smoke there is fire.

   I would exclusively be applying for English roles at multinational companies, but I’d be interested to know if anyone in this sub has some background knowledge on the level of experience required from some of these organisations (and what organisations are recommended) and what kind of candidates they’re expecting.

   Any other information would be much appreciated!
