I leave for Japan on April 10th
Ive been planning getting my VISA for a while and thought id have time but my school only mailed my COE on the 14th
its been stuck at the sorting center for 4 days and I only had 4 days of wiggle room. with mailing time, processing time (someone said 2 weeks) and the time it takes to get back to me i have no idea if ill even have it on April 10th, i may get it the day of the flight. And I dont want to cut it that close.
I already told my apartment id be there on the 13th and got a hotel for the 12th
Im worried i wont have my VISA in time, am I better off canceling my ticket and scheduling it a few days later? I dont know how long itll take and google says 5 days.

The consulate needs 5 business days processing time (in my experience) if you drop it off and pick it up in person. Booking and changing airfares will cost some $$$, so if you are not sure, i would hold off until you have a coe & appointment at the consulate, and know when you’ll be picking it up, before you book.
