Where can I buy an inexpensive, larger sized suit in the Kobe / Osaka area?

I got a temp position and I’m going to need a new suit. I’m in the inaka, and local ones tend to run a bit small. I’m hoping one of the closest larger cities might have a shop with a better (bigger) selection. I’ll probably only wear the suit like 3-4 times this year, so ideally it wouldn’t be super expensive, but I’ll take what I can get at this point! Thanks for any leads you have!

  1. You may also want to try asking in /r/Osaka.

  2. Haven’t been in years but F-one used to have made to order starting at ¥20,000.

  3. Big as in tall or big as in wide?

It is fairly easy to find suits for “wider” people, much more difficult for taller people.

Aoyama Tailor is a good bet. 6 or so stores in Kobe, but go to the biggest you can.

  4. Chain Suit shops, like はるやま and 洋服の青山, they sell suits for people who are 190 cm(over) tall. It’s pretty easy to find a suit for tall people.

  5. In osaka (namba), bic camera has a big and tall store on the top floor, including suits. I imagine it’s cheaper than a normal suit store.

  6. If you want cheap you can order shirts pants and blazer online from Uniqlo or GU even as they sell larger sizes online that they don’t stock in stores. You can get it hemmed when you order or take it to a tailor afterwards if need be.

Also if you wanna try before you buy for shirts or Blazers. Order the sizes you wanna try and mail return the ones that don’t fit. If you wanna save on postage you have to make an order online and pay at the Uniqlo or GU up front, then come back and get what you ordered and return all the stuff that doesn’t fit at the store.
