Moving out but still no word about the contract

I’m planning to move out and I found a house about two months ago. However the process with the real estate company and the management of the building is very slow.

I’m suppose to move in next week (31 March) but still havent been able to sign anything or paid anything yet although they confirmed I’m able to move in. All I signed was a confirmation agreement that I would take the apartment. How long before you moved did you sign and pay? I contacted them and they said they are on it but what else can I do?

Another thing that has me worried is that the building is quite near the station (5 min) for pretty cheap for a clean apartment. yet seven apartments where available when I checked. That also feels off. Anything I should be wary of? Should I check anything in particular just in case?

This is weird. What’s this agreement called in Japanese or is it all in English?

About 1 or 2 months before moving in usually. Payment comes shortly before or after signing the contract.

What type of train line is it? Underground, above ground? Chances are it’s going to be loud as fuck. Kinda dark and much less likely, but people tend to avoid 事故物件 here, so maybe someone offed themselves in one of the rooms? You can actually check this [here](https://www.oshimaland.co.jp/).

  2. Now it’s a good time to start panicking. Since you had months of time to get the paperwork together, any realtor with any desire to continue in business would have already gotten you to pay and sign everything. Of course things would be different if it were a last minute booking, but this is not.

So now we’re left wondering what’s going on. And you’re asking us because presumably they aren’t answering your phone calls. Which means it’s time to make a backup plan.

  3. Absolutely not an expert, but I just signed onto an apartment in a super rush job type thing (visiting, paying, signing and moving in were all in two weeks), and the realtor was hounding me to the point of annoyance, because there was so much to get done. It sounds mighty sketchy to be in the dark for so long.

  4. I paid just a week or two ahead of time. They were really lenient with my payment. I’d definitely be asking for the paperwork immediately though.
