Can 一つ be used with the same role as “a little” in English?

The context for this is: 「礼儀のひとつも見せたらどうだね騎士殿」

I would appreciate any help on this

  1. It could work in your example, but remember that 一つ is a counter, meaning it has to be counting something. One thing, two things, etc. You cannot respond to something like “Some sugar with your tea?” with 一つ. It wouldn’t be “a little” here. It’d be closer to literally saying one grain of sugar.

  2. if you’re trying for a direct translation, i’d offer “one instance of courtesy”

  3. If you translate it more directly, sure but it’s essentially saying “Where are your manners?”
