If there is, what brands are the most popular? Want to buy some outside of Japan but I’ve heard that fresh wasabi degrades in taste relatively fast, so is it even possible to buy authentic wasabi paste? Would there be a big difference in taste compared to fresh wasabi?

Oddly enough, the Wasabi that I buy in the US is grown in North Carolina and Oregon
