Hi! This is my partner’s and my first time in Japan, and we want to road trip with the intentions of seeing Japan’s nature, Michi-no-ekis, and hot springs. We’re not fans of big cities, so we’re aiming for small towns, animal sanctuaries, and all the spots that cars are optimal for. Also, we will avoid highways/tolls and sleep in the car to save costs.
Here’s our current rough itinerary. Let me know if there’s any spots we should include/reconsider. Thanks!
**4/1:**
Start at Hakone (explore and rent car from here so I don’t have to drive in Tokyo)
Drive to Kisami Ohama Beach and sleep there
**4/2:**
Drive to Lake Kawaguchi
Stop by Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba and Oshino Hakkai
Sleep somewhere with a nice view of Mt. Fuji
**4/3:**
Drive to Kiso Valley
Drive through Japan Romantic Road
Sleep at Michi-no-eki
**4/4:**
Drive to Ginzan Onsen
Sleep at Michi-no-eki
**4/5:**
Drive back to Hakone
