Scones

I don’t know if anyone else will care about this. However, as a Brit, if anyone else sometimes craves scones but doesn’t have a proper oven to make them in.. I recommend Nippon Ham’s scones! I tried them recently and they are the best I’ve had! You need to microwave them for ten seconds and then put in a toaster oven for 1 minute. I highly recommend them. If this doesn’t belong here.. feel free to delete!

  1. I just put in an order with the wife! Thanks for the info.

Now if only I could find some crumpets…

  2. The British consulate has just called to say they’re revoking your citizenship. Carriage drawn by beefeaters has been dispatched to your location, please remain in place…

  3. Tokyo People: [Juri’s Tea Room](https://goo.gl/maps/3S4o7W4ap9sfvW9K8) in Azabu-juban

Owner lived in UK and won an award for their tea. The scones are freshly baked and the clotted cream is sourced from a specific farm in Japan (Can’t remember where). I am a brit. I love scones and jam. These are probably the best I’ve ever had. And the owner is SUPER friendly, especially if you’re British.

  4. Nippon Ham? Seriously? Man ill give them a try but that brand is usually a sign of something rather shit.

  5. check out @earlybirds_morningclub on instagram! it’s a pop up British bakery & they update their location (central Tokyo) & dates on their instagram.

Also Camera cafe in Kuramae has good homemade scones too.

  6. Help me settle a long-standing argument: which goes first, the cream or the jam?

  7. I’m also addicting to scones (not a Brit though). Is there a store in Fukuoka or Nagoya? I will be traveling there next week.

  8. I personally think this absolutely belongs here. A quality tip and far more useful than another “I need a divorce” or “I was offended by XYZ”. Thank you!

    I don’t like where this is going…

    >You need to microwave them for ten seconds

    Oh no… *Oh no…*

  10. If you do have an oven, the best scone recipe I’ve tried (I’ve tried many) is Paul Hollywood’s.

  11. Thanks for the suggestion. I love scones, but what I crave the most is buttermilk biscuits!

  12. anywhere at the moment selling crumpets? they used to sell them at seijo but not anymore

  13. “Baked” in Hamanomachi, Nagasaki, makes excellent scones, both salty and sweet

  14. There are a million scone places in Japan. Kikis, Brighton tea room, Kitahama, Three bears, Roddas are all places I have been to in Kansai that do good scones and I know there are a lot more as I have walked past some good looking scones.
