B&N tablet repair

I’m probably s.o.l., but I figured I’d ask anyway.

I have a Nook and I usually keep it in my backpack for long trips. I took it out to charge it and the screen is badly cracked. My mom sent it to me a few years back, so I don’t have any kind of servicing information.

Does anyone know of anyplace in Japan that might repair it? I live near Hiroshima, but I have a vacation coming soon and it wouldn’t be too much work to take a trip to Tokyo or Osaka.

  1. Barnes & Nobles? They don’t have a local presence here, so no one would have parts for that device. You need to send it back to the U.S. or buy another one.

  2. [iFixit](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Barnes+And+Noble+Nook+HD+Tablet+Screen+Replacement/32998) has a few guides (donno your specific model) on DIY’ing it and you can probably get replacement screens from aliexpress or similar for around 5000 yen. Whether its worth it or not, no idea, aren’t these e-readers sold at a loss so you can keep buying content? You can probably get a used one for less than replacement screen would cost, and as the other reply says, these aren’t in Japan so nobody here would be willing to do the repair, even if you brought in your own parts.
