Not sure if it’s the same here, but in Germany for example DHL has lockers I could send packages to instead of a home address.
Is there such a thing in Japan? Or is there any way to send a package somewhere that’s not a home address and then I can go there and pick it up?
It would be a shipment from private person to private person incase that matters.

Japan Post allow you to sent to the post office for pickup: [https://www.post.japanpost.jp/service/sisho/index.html](https://www.post.japanpost.jp/service/sisho/index.html)
Yamato also allow you to send to its service center for pickup: [https://www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp/ytc/customer/send/services/tc-receive/](https://www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp/ytc/customer/send/services/tc-receive/)
3 second Google search in English gives this

Most of the delivery companies can deliver to a konbini for pickup. You would need to find the konbini you want it delivered to and verify with them that they can receive it and then the other private person can send it there.
Look for something called PuDo (pick up drop off). They are lockers for delivery packages.. exactly what you are asking about. They have them all over, supermarkets, university campus, kuroneko offices, etc.

How long is your road trip, and has the package already been sent?
If it hasn’t been sent, then the konbini option (or PUDO locker) is viable.
If the package has been sent, the company will hold it for up to 7 days. If your trip takes longer than that, then I don’t think there’s any other way.
