Garcie (51, real name: Yoshikazu Higashitani), a former member of the House of Councillors of the 48th Women’s Political Party, for whom the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has issued an arrest warrant on suspicion of violating the Violent Activities Law (habitual threats) and defamation of character, sent out a SNS message from Dubai, where he was staying, on April 16. He said: I have decided that I will never return to Japan. It’s an amazing country. Japan is the only country that puts out an international arrest warrant for defamation of character (internet troll).

Garcie, who was expelled from the House of Councillors on March 15, said, “They must really want to destroy me. After forcibly expelling me from the House of Councillors, they suddenly arrested me. The state and the police are working together,” he spat. He said that the investigation was being conducted arbitrarily, “I don’t understand. It’s like a big criminal. You should solve Luffy’s case or something. I’ve only heard of Interpol (ICPO = International Criminal Police Organization) in Lupin III,” he said sarcastically.

Garcie, who said he had been ordered to return his passport, said, “I don’t care if I lose my passport. Don’t worry, I’m not going back to Japan. I will move out. I won’t tell anyone where I’m moving to. I have to live by banging on stone bridges,” he said, suggesting a fugitive life spanning the globe.

  2. I don’t know if he has enough money to move out, but the media seem to say he hasn’t sent money from Japan yet.
