Tags:Japan PhotosPhotography in Japan 15 commentsIt’s pretty common to express time after 12am like this in Japan if it’s a continuation of the previous day, rather than expressing it as 6:00-2:00.Japan is so high tech they invented two more hours.Similar thing can be found for late night movies in theater, like if movie starts at 23:00 and end at 1:00 then it is shown as 23:00-25:00We’re used to doing overtime here, nothing new about it.Yeah I was pretty confused when I saw bars closing at 25:00. Then realized it meant 01:00. It’s a weird way of putting it.This shorthand for 0200 is common here. If they said 6:00 to 2:00 it might be misunderstood. They weren’t lying when they said japan is 2hrs ahead of the worldIt’s easier to read that way especially if you are used to reading from right to left. It leaves no confusion.I think sometimes it can go up to 28:00 or even 30:00 at times. This is common way to express over night schedule in Japan. Not outside Japan?🤔It totally makes sense rather than 6:00 – 2:00.I used to work with a card club in my area, that was open 24 hours, and they tracked their table operating times for any given day from 5:00-29:00Cuz its JAPAN bruh!they found a way😄!So that no matter when you arrive, you are always punctual!Leave a ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
