Selling Big Items on Mercari

So I just sold a guitar I don’t use since i’ve replsced it for a new one, but I never thought on the shipping process. Other packages I’ve sent have been rather small and fit in the box mercari provides, but now since a guitar obviously does not fit in a tiny box, I can’t use that and there are no options for bigger packages. How can I proceed with this?

  1. If its over “160”, you will need to send via “other” and go with Sagawa or Kuroneko.

The shipping cost will be on you (not built into the auction closing price).

For something like a guitar I would choose cyakubarai as the costs can go up quite a bit if shipping to Hokkaido/Okinawa etc.

…the downside to this option is you lose anonymity. As the buyer will need to tell you their address.

(reading that you already sold the guitar, again if its over 160 you will need to ask the buyer for their address and send manually with the paper form at Kuroneko/Sagawa and then manually note in mercari that the item is shipped)

  2. amazon has guitar sized carboard boxes for 1500-2000jpy
then buy copious amounts of bubble wrap from daiso
