Josh Alexander out indefinitely, pulled from IMPACT X NJPW Multiverse United

The record-setting title run of Josh Alexander is officially over as he will relinquish the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship due to a triceps tear that will require surgery, IMPACT confirmed.

Josh Alexander is currently in Orlando, Florida, where Brad M. Homan, DO, FAOAO, will be performing a triceps tendon repair later today.

Josh Alexander was originally scheduled to face KUSHIDA at the co-branded MULTIVERSE UNITED: ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE show on Thursday, March 30, from the sold-out Globe Theater in Los Angeles, as a part of WrestleCon. His replacement will be announced at a later date.

  1. That sucks. While I can’t say he’s my favorite or anything dude has had a heck of a run since Ethan Page left and did a good job holding impact down. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.

  2. Absolutely gutted for him. Dude was having an epic run as Champ, a well deserved run too. Hoping for a quick recovery

  3. So unfortunate seriously. He was on a roll delivering great matches with such distinctly different opponents. Whoever would have beaten him would have been made a star over night

  4. Very unfortunate, but his schedule was so jam packed the past few months and he was literally wrestling all over the world, maybe his body just gave in. Hope he heals quickly and comes back stronger.

  5. The good thing is that he will recover eventually, and he goes down as an unbeatable champion for now, as someone of his talent deserves

  6. Shit that sucks, I was hoping to see his run continue, he’s been a great champ. Now both matches I was most excited about at Impact/NJPW aren’t happening!

  7. Really sucks that his title reign has to end like that and I was looking forward to seeing him I’m action.

  8. These cross over shows are really cursed man. Forbidden door 2 gets announced and Ospreay gets a busted shoulder.

  9. Damn. The two people I was looking forward to most in this show are injured.

  10. That’s not great first Osprey now josh and Mickie terrible news was actually really looking forward to the impact show.

  11. How come everytime there’s a collab event everyone is getting injured?! The collab events are cursed lol

  12. That sucks.

Impact has been some of the best wrestling programing in regards to work rate for a while and a lot has to do with that dude being a workhorse and the roster being solid as hell.

Was looking forward to the Maclin match but we will hopefully get back to that when Josh returns.

Maclin should be the next champ, tho.

    He is ready.

  13. I’m starting to think these joint PPV’s with NJPW might be cursed. Last year, all those injuries hit before Forbidden Door. Now Ospreay and Alexander go down before this one. Just really unfortunate.

  14. Man, what sucks was that he was likely about to drop the title to Maclin as well

  15. Damn. I can’t say I’m a weekly watcher of Impact but I will often go out of my way to watch this guy’s work.

I really enjoy his stuff. My number two American wrestler currently not signed to WWE/AEW – and that’s only because Jacob Fatu out here.
