I’ve been using a Wimax as my main internet for several years now. I only use Wimax, and never use the LTE coverage. Speed is throttled to 1Mbps between 18:00-01:00 daily if your total usage in the last 3 days exceeds 10Gb (I always do).
Depending on the type of traveling that you do, you should check their [coverage maps.](https://www.uqwimax.jp/wimax/area/) I’ve also noticed that the speed would drop (slightly?) when it’s raining.
Doesn’t Leopalace have “leonet” that they make you pay for separately (granted it’s just regular ADSL so it’s not fast by modern standards).
If you want speed you’ll probably need to get hikari installed and I doubt leopalace would let you do that. Otherwise consult http://isp.oshietekun.net/
Also you didn’t say where you live and what outlets your place has so IDK that’ll change the answer.
I guess you install something, but I would confirm with the ISP what kind of installation they do.
I’ve been using AsahiNet for over 5 years, it’s about 3,780 yen a month, plus 770 AsahiNet fee. I’ll be move to SONY NURO end of this month, it’s much cheaper (44,000 for 3 years) and faster! (2g plan), don’t let me down SONY!
Most leopalace doesn’t let you install external internet providers as they’re gonna have to pull a fiber cable from outside, into your room (usually via aircon duct or any sort of ventilation holes) but if your place doesn’t have them, they have to drill stuff- and no construction whatsoever is allowed by leopalace, so nope.
I believe leonet should be available though, they’re decent, around 150-200Mb/s. Buy and use your own router though, don’t use their supplied lifestick whatever that is that connects to your tv because that thing sucks ass. Dropped connection every 2 hours, lame ping because it’s basically an android tether, frequent overheats.
