My first attempt at Takoyaki

My first attempt at Takoyaki

  1. Kinda want some sausage gravy and a couple eggs to go with those. So…they’re definitely appetizing, just not in the intended way I guess.

  2. If you fill the batter into ice cube trays, drop a piece of octopus in each, then freeze, you should be able to fry them to have them keep their shape and have them look relatively like traditional takoyaki (depending on the tray). These look tasty though!

  3. Though they don’t look like takoyaki in this picture, still looks like they were delicious. Like little biscuit bites… I want breakfast.

  4. Thanx for all the responses. They were awesome. New cast iron pan worked great (on an induction plate.)

    I’ll keep trying. 🙏🏼

  5. If you’re not in Japan (because there you can get the special tray) but are in Europe (or Australia where I found one somehow) you can always look for the Dutch or Danish pancake trays which all semi spherical holes and cast iron.

Work about the same, just maybe a little smaller.

All things being equal I doubt the shape is actually a huge factor.
