I work at a startup and we need to increase our in house engineer numbers. The thing is that we need people able to speak high level of both English and Japanese regardless of nationality.
Has anyone here had a good experience with any particular recruiting service? Thank you

Quick google will tell you the top bilingual recruiters in Japan (Robert Walters etc.)
I just hope you are going into this knowing how expensive it’ll be. Both the salary you need to offer and the massive recruiter fee for successful placements. Truly bilingual engineers are unicorns.
A potentially cheaper option would be to have a presence at the next career forum: https://careerforum.net/en/event/tks/
Linkedin?
indeed
linkedin
This place might be worth a look: [https://japan-dev.com/](https://japan-dev.com/)
I haven’t dealt with them other than signing up for the newsletter, but they seem to specialise in the kind of profiles you’re looking for.
Post your job description directly in websites like daijob, gaijinpot, indeed and LinkedIn.
I recommend against using recruiters, not only because of their fees, but personally I always skip job posts by recruiters in those websites, I only see direct posts from companies. People saying good things about recruiters probably work for one.
Just my experience but what you usually get is:
Pick two…
– Japanese fluency
– English fluency
– Skilled engineer
There have been significant layoffs at many large tech companies recently so there’s good talent out there. LinkedIn is a strong place to start if English native/proficiency is a priority. Fluent English + Japanese speaking AND good engineer is hard to come by.
