Hi~ I’m planning my second trip to Japan in mid April with my parents (so we won’t visiting themeparks, etc.), it would be very helpful if I could get some input if this itinerary is realistic and achievable, or more idea to add to the trip. We also plan to visit Kyoto but I have not finished my itinerary yet so it will be kept empty here.
Since we plan for Kyoto and Kamakura, I decided to not go to the traditional destination in Tokyo (Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, etc.).
Thanks in advance!
**Day 1: Arrive – Shinjuku (Saturday)**
– Arriving in Haneda at around 2 pm
– Check-in Airbnb in Shinjuku area
– Eat yakiniku nearby
– Omoido yokocho (take pic/grab a drink and snack)
**Day 2: Shinjuku – Harajuku – Shibuya (Sunday)**
Morning
– Suga shrine
– Harajuku: stroll around Takeshita Dori and Tokyu Plaza, not planning to buy anything
After lunch
– Shibuya Crossing
– Shibuya Parco (Pokemon Center, Jump Store)
– Miyashita Park
– Shibuya Center-Gai (GU, Don Quijote, Uniqlo)
**Day 3: Tsukiji – Odaiba – Akihabara**
Morning
– Tsukiji Outer Fish Market
After lunch
– Odaiba (Unicorn Gundam)
– Team lab (appointment at 12.30 pm)
– Akihabara (Animate, Gachapon, Radio Kaikan)
Any ideas for evening schedules? Or should I spend more time in Odaiba before going to Akihabara?
**Day 4: Kamakura**
Morning:
– Arrive at Kitakamakura Station
– Walk to Meigetsuin
– Kamakura Station
– Lunch at Komachi Dori
After lunch:
– Enoden Tram to Hasedera Temple
– Kotoku-in
– Famous photo spot in Kamakura Kokomae Station (priority)
**Day 5-6: Kyoto**
**Day 7: Back to Tokyo**
– Check in to hotel in Ikebukuro (afternoon)
– Sunshine city mall (want to check Ghibli shop)
– Do some last minute shopping
**Day 8: Depart**

Hi! I think you’re wise to leave Meiji Jingu and Asakusa off if you’re planning to go to Kamakura and Kyoto.
Looks very doable to me, I would just make sure to get up early to Kamakura as it’s quite hilly in places and I always found that I walked from place to place rather than wait for the buses. So factor in time to travel between places.
Also, I HIGHLY recommend visiting Hokokuji in Kamakura for their bamboo forest and tea room. It’s smaller than Arashiyama but miles better imho and you get to drink matcha tea while looking out across the bamboo. It’s worth the trek up there.
I personally wouldn’t bother spending too much time in Odaiba as I always found it to be lifeless and boring other than going for specific activities. Spend more time in Akihabara or check out the Shinjuku area more as you’ll want an early start the next day.
Seems good to me! The one thing I would change is to go to TeamLab directly from the Tsukiji. It was a 5 or 10 minute bus ride. The Gundam statue is a bit farther so you would be wasting upwards of an hour going back and forth multiple times along the same route.
