International Shipping

Hi, I would like to know if anyone has any insight on shipping stuff from Japan to America. I am returning to America in about two months and want to ship back my keyboard and other stuff in bulk. So far, the cheapest way is by ship, and although it takes a while, I’m willing to wait to save money.

Stuff I want to send in one go: Keyboard, Koto(Pending Purchase), A Lot of Figures, and their boxes included.

Any Help is appreciated!

  1. You need boxes. You can get boxes at the post office or elsewhere. Then you can send your boxes at the post office, once they’re full. Even if you send them separately, on the form there’s a way that you can write how they’re actually part of one group shipment.

Sending anything larger or heavy by air is very very expensive these days. Try to carry what you can carry with you on the airplane and send the rest by ship, and your wallet will be happy.

If you’re extra worried about things breaking, some people double box things. Even if you don’t, try to pad things within your boxes. If you have a lot of extra clothes that are out of season right now, that’s convenient.

The JP Post website can give you a sense of the cost. It’s in English.
