  1. I’ve got to be honest, this does not look great. Barely any sushi and the flavor is going to be super flat. Just eat sashimi.

  2. 100%Agreed more filling then rice absolutely smackin stay blessed 🤙🤙🤙🤙

  3. I feel like there can be such a thing as being too light on the rice… but I’d prefer to err that way than too much 🙂

  4. I find this is good for salmon or spicy salmon or tuna. But a little dry for like a tuna roll

  5. As a sushi chef, I have to say no. For the money you’re spending, sure you’re coming up. But making sushi is about precision and presentation. Precision applies not only to your cuts, but the ratio of ingredients involved.

  6. I’m not willing to trade quality just to have a lot of fish – half the enjoyment of eating sushi for me is that it looks amazing – the care and effort put into the presentation makes it so much more special. These rolls look terrible.

  7. You might as well have sashimi at that point my friend, but whatever floats your boat!

  8. The controversy in this thread is so ridiculous. Its fine. I dont really like the plating but thats not really a big deal. It also looks like they put rice on the whole sheet so it doesnt roll properly

  9. I totally understand. When I was a kid we’d have bagel, lox and cream cheese for brunch on Sunday. My grandfather used to buy lots of lox. As I kid I liked the cream cheese more. I can’t believe I did that because I love salmon now. I could have had as much salmon as I could have eaten.

  10. Eh. No thanks. Not a fan of large amounts of raw fish (texture puts my stomach off) so I avoid sashimi, which is basically what this looks like due to the lack of rice and other textures in there

  11. A little bit more rice is better for taste (sushi does require the seasoned rice). I’m a sushiman.
In hosomaki I allways put minimum of two grains of thickness all around the center.

Nowadays one thing a lot of people ask is “sashimi rolls”, for the fish lovers.

The only issue I have with the image is not the quantity of rice. The roll was definitely cut with a blunt knife. You can see by how the rice grains are outside of the nori in more than 2 pieces.

  12. God some of you are so annoying…

OP just likes a lot of fish, he doesn’t need lectured on why he needs to hate the presentation of a roll in a plastic container.
