As someone who didn’t appreciate the nuance of baseball until I watched “Ace of diamond”, watching the highlights of the WBC final game resonated with me on a scale that would just not have existed if it weren’t for that animé. Such a tense game, almost as if it were written for an animé or manga!
I watched my fair share of baseball anime but never watched any real life baseball matches (either in person or on TV).
Being in Japan during the WBC changed all that. Consider me a RL baseball fan now. It’s a pity both Ohtani and Trout are on a less-than-stellar team though…
