Recycling in Japan

Pardon me if this is the wrong place to ask but I don’t know where else to post it because I don’t speak Japanese.

In most of Europe, if you sell electronics, batteries or packaging in general you have to license these things for recycling even if you are a foreign company selling to consumers directly (ecommcerce for example). Do laws like this exist in Japan too or can point me to someplace where I can find more Information concerning recycling in Japan in English?
