Are you a lazy degenerate like me with the faint fever notion of ending up as motivated and disciplined and HARD as David Goggins?

Then do I have the post for you!

In all seriousness though:

Since I’ve been degenn’ing YouTube shorts lately – I’ve specifically and accidentally finessed the algorithm to show me videos of Kanji calligraphy. So that’s better than doing nothing. The change of pace has been nice.

In my lazy checking of the YouTube app I’ve slowly built a longish playlist of Japanese immersion videos – which I’ve started to casually enjoy and watch and even understand differently than I had before.

Also you cycle through your avoidance techniques so many times, a fresh thought starts to come your way – what if I just opened that Anki app and repped 1 card? I don’t want to do that, but would 1 card be so hard? And then all of a sudden after a 50 day burn you’ve repped 100 cards instead of 0. Then two weeks later that Anki is back in stasis, baby.

Get those gears clicked, man those ropes, swab the input deck! Let’s get to it!

It’s not how I want to be studying – but at least I am compared to what I was doing before – nothing. Absolutely nothing. The rest was okay but let’s get it back – let’s take that s#%{*} and get it back in that neat pile!

(Meant to motivate learners that struggle in the ways I struggle – please spare me thouest Divinest Mods)

Lazy learners with fever dreams – share how you get along. Let’s discuss this for our studying betterment!

  1. Yeah I feel ya. But like you said, better to do at least a little of something than nothing at all.
