I’ll be moving to Yamanashi prefecture in a few months. I’m looking at living in the village of Kosuge, but housing is hit or miss. I was thinking of living in a closeby city where I can take public transportation to Kosuge. However, looking at Google Maps, it looks super limited.
Looking for links for public transportation schedules, routes, and advice for Yamanashi.

my friend’s family lives out there & it was always a LOT of driving to get to her place – honestly would recommend buying a car or at least (!!) a bike, public transit in smaller towns/cities is definitely not that robust.
I live in Hokuto and NEED a car. You might be able to get away with public transportation in Kofu but if you want to explore the rest of the prefecture you’re going to have a bad time.
I live in Kofu and having a car drastically improved my standard of living here even. I think for most other cities and areas in Yamanashi, cars are practically a must

Yamanashi? More like bus nashi am I right folks?
I’m jealous. Buy a motorcycle and enjoy cruising around. Yeah there’s very little public transportation, but the mountains are great.
