I’m moving away from Japan in a month’s time but my salary payments are continuing after I’ve left the country. Here’s my issue. Yucho never approved me for a debit card. As the cash card doesn’t work abroad I’m in need of some workaround. I know Wise is an option but I’m not sure I’ll have time enough to get it set up and I would be content with having this money available for say amazon purchases. If anyone knows a good workaround to get my yucho account set up for online purchases without the use of a debit/credit card that would be appreciated!

For revolut I think you can apply, do identity verification, send money from yucho, then use the virtual card.
All of above doable at same day as long as not weekend.
Then request the physical debit card after. Which will arrive in a week or so.
Wise pretty much the same, except the virtual card part.
Also with yucho direct you can use internet banking for sending money, but there’s daily limit of 50k yen? iirc, you can request to increase the limit though.
Though I might be wrong, better wait for more comments!
Do you have internet banking setup?
Because you can charge for example Amazon Gift Card balance with bank transfer via internet banking, and use that for shopping.
If you have PayPay you can charge in the same way and use that for some online shopping as well.
If you’re leaving Japan for good, you should (are required to?) close your bank accounts.
If you do not do so, some banks upon noticing it (either because any mail sent to you was returned, or the expiry of your residence card they have on file) will freeze your account, and in some cases will only allow you to access your funds again upon presenting yourself in person, at a branch.
Unless you’re willing to take the chance that you may not have access to the funds (until you’re physically back in Japan), you might like to talk to your work about transferring your remaining salary by some other way.
I believe your work has to pay you within 7 days of your last day of work, but you must request for them to do so (see [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/comments/124kgxi/have_to_wait_over_a_month_before_getting_my_last/)). If payment is made after you have left Japan, it will be subject to 20.42% non-resident tax.
So, you really should have time to leave your job, receive your last salary, and close your bank account before you leave for good.
