I took photos of these cakes. I was looking for cakes that I would buy on my birthday. In Japan they prefer round cakes than square cakes.

  1. Funny, if it wasn’t for the labels, it could 100% be a typical bakery in France, like the ones is see every day

  2. They all look so delicious!!

I am biased towards strawberry shortcakes tho. I bet they taste way better in Japan

  3. Do they have Black Forest Gâteau? Because that is always the correct answer on what cake you should have for your birthday.

Not that I would turn any of these down; they all look delicious.

  4. Thanks for posting this. It brings back memories of my childhood in Tokyo. My oldest brother lived in Sendai in the early 50s when cooking oil was scarce. They used fish oil so everything tasted like fish to him. He was so frustrated to see such beautiful sweets that tasted like fish.

  5. I know this chain! Torianon! Their shops look like some shit from the 1960’s. The ichigo shortcake is wild good, though.
