Hello! I’m a black woman in Japan and noticed my foundation is running low.
I know I can order online, but I was wondering if there was a particular store I could go to to find a foundation match in person. I’m in the Tokyo/Chiba area, if that helps.
Any recommendations please! Thanks!

Friends told me they always had good luck with the MAC stores that sell studio line of foundation/makeup (usually only the higher end ones have studio line), but it isn’t cheap.
My vote would also be MAC, but it’s expensive in Japan.
Lookup maccosmetics dot com (not sure if we can post links) as they have a wide range and an Indian friend of mine uses their stuff without issue.
They have stores all over the place too.
Tarte Foundation maybe? At Maison Kose stores. I go to the one in Harajuku/Omotesando area.
Not sure about what the have in stock, but I am pale-white-pink-almost-see-through and this is the only brand of concealer that matches my skin tone.

I’m a black women and haven’t bought foundation here yet, but I’ve heard from other black women that Decorte has foundation for darker skin!
For cheaper makeup, in Osaka I saw NYX one time. So I’m sure Tokyo must have NYX booths.
Possibly Mac or Nars online if you already know your shade.
I randomly found Maybelline in shade 330 (Toffee), in a Shimokitazawa drugstore, that works surprisingly well.
I used to get Mac NC45 which was close enough.
I’m not black, but I’m South-East Asian with tanned skin darker than most Japanese skin. I’ve been using primer and foundation from Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty. It’s really pricey importing from the US now, though. *cries*
