Hi r/JapanTravel!
Visiting Japan for the first time in April (4-21) with some friends. I will have an entire day off to myself in Osaka on April 7 and was wondering if anyone had recommendations on interesting or fun things i could do solo (outside of the stuff below)
Currently we are planning on doing the following in Osaka:
April 5:
\- Osaka Castle
\- Tempozan market place **(exploring and looking around)**
\- **Kaiyukan Osaka Aquarium**
\- **Kushikatsu Daruma (exploring and looking around)**
April 6:
Exploring a bunch of streets and districts
\- Minami District
\- Shinsaibashi-suji
\- Hozenji Yokocho + temple
\- Abeno Haruka 300 observation deck
\- Dotonbori
Our residence will be in the Kita ward towards the north end of Osaka. We will be visiting Nara and Kyoto on other days, and ending off in Tokyo.
I have looked into possibly heading to Minoo Park or Himeji (not too interested in Universal Studios) but if anyone has other suggestions i am open to anything – restaurants to try, places to shop (thrifting!), shrines, day trips/hikes, bars, etc. I have no issues travelling away from the city center.
Thanks for any and all the help!

Go to yoshino. Spectacular cherry blossons
Nakazaki in the north (next to Umeda) has great little shops / cafes. Nice to just walk around there!
Go to Himeji and Mt. Shosha
