Your real estate agent didn’t give you the utilities information? And with all things it depends, it could be almost immediate, it could take a few days, it all depends…
For me electricity was quick, but gas took a few days.
whenever i’ve signed up for gas it has always required someone coming out to turn it on and do a quick inspection, so it may take a few days to arrange a date
Water and Electricity: from the day you call them (if electricity wasn’t used for a long time in the unit the electric company may have to send someone to check though)
Gas: you have to schedule beforehand and you have to be there too. The last time I did I called a week ahead of moving in and had no issue
Electricity: if you have a smart meter, you just need the number on the meter when you apply and they can remotely switch it on. At my last place, it was just outside next to the front door.
Gas: made appointment for the guy to come out and connect everything up.
Water: gave them the number on the water pipe thing to start the billing.
Internet: we had to get all the cables set up so, about 2 weeks wait and a morning for the labor. In a mansion/apartment, everything should already be set up.
Thank you for the information. It helps to have a rough estimate. In my country some people can wait a year for internet 🤣
