URGENT DENTAL CARE

Please help!!!! I have some kind of abscess or infection in my mouth and am in excruciating pain. I’ve already been to the ER and the painkillers they gave me are not helping at all. I’ve called and gone into several dental clinics near me but they either don’t speak English or don’t have available time today. The earliest appt I could get is late tomorrow.

I am sitting in my Airbnb bawling my eyes out because the pain is so bad and I’m just at a loss. If anyone knows any URGENT care dental offices that do same day or out of hour appointments please let me know.

I’m in Shinjuku and my appt tomorrow is at Azabudai United. I’ve tried Trust Dental and Kamiyacho too. I can’t remember the others because I was just walking into any office I passed by.

Please help

UPDATE: saw a dentist who did not recommend a root canal. Instead gave me antibiotics and pain meds to use until I go back home. Currently awake at 3am weeping due to the pain, forcing down some yogurt as my “breakfast” so I’m able to take my second dosage. 🙁

  1. If you took any form of insurance, call them, they should be able to direct you somewhere that they will also cover.

Edit: the typo have been corrected.

  2. Thanks everyone, one of the clinics emailed me back and fit me in an hour from now. It’s called Ryo Dental. Wish me luck!!!!

  3. Can’t confirm this, but I saw a dental office at Haneda airport. Solid chance that if they do dental work, they might have English speakers there. It was close to the ninjawifi location, second floor, terminal 3

  4. If the others don’t respond, I LOVED Dr. Enatsu at United Dental Office Tokyo (they are located right by Tokyo Tower). He was so kind, thorough, professional, quick, precise, and communicative. From meeting me to having a completed and painless root canal with a temporary crown on and pills in my hands, it was a total of 5 hours. At home, this would have taken me 2-3 weeks to set up with multiple dentists and appointments! And the cost was the same I pay my dentist back home. (I have no insurance) I contacted them in miserable pain at like 2 am and they were in my inbox by 5:30, ready to offer me a same day appointment for like 9:30. It was so easy and so great.

I have a massive dental phobia so this was my worst nightmare in theory, but it ended up being the easiest and most comfortable dental experience of my life! My dentist back home did the permanent crown and also complimented the work they did.

  5. Arcoxia pill if you can find that there, 120mg tablet. No prescription needed.

[https://www.idmart.net/pain/arcoxia.html](https://www.idmart.net/pain/arcoxia.html) Here’s a link you can show a pharmacist on your phone so you can avoid any language barriers. If you can only get 60mg, take two. One dose a day only though.

This tided me over for 3 days before I could see a dentist.

  6. You just described the emotions I am feeling right now. 😭🥹I was also crying my eyes out thinking about how i probably have a serious gum disease since my gums have been bleeding for over years but now the bleeding has gotten way worse and I was researching gum disease, receding gums, and regretting not taking it seriously for such a long time. I just booked an appointment on Wednesday. That was the earliest I could do. Anyways, I hope you get treated soon and your pain subsides. 😭
