Lost wallet with two passports in Akihabara.
Hi, today my gf and I lost a black wallet around Akihabara, Tokyo in the wallet were our two passports (we know its not smart to keep this with us).
This are Belgium passports.

Update 1: went tl the police and declared our passports lost. They gave us a document to go to the Embassy.
Tried to contact the Embassy, but no one responded as it’s Saturday evening/night

That’s unfortunate. Hopefully someone will find the wallet and turn it in to the nearest koban.
You need to carry your passport with you when travelling around Japan, legally.
You should’ve kept them seperately though so they can’t easily be lost.
How did you lose them? Do you suspect they were stolen?
After reading your update you’ve already done all the right steps. Rn it’s just the waiting game to see if they get turned in / wait until Monday to go to the Embassy. So sorry that happened though.
