Is it possible to get lisdexamfetamine prescribed in Japan as a foreigner on a student visa? I am only allowed to bring 2 months + 10 days with me, but I will be staying for 4-5 months. Unfortunately other ADHD medication like methylfenidate does not work for me. I will be residing in Fukuoka.

It looks like this medication is available in Japan – [https://www.takeda.com/ja-jp/announcements/2019/vyvanse/](https://www.takeda.com/ja-jp/announcements/2019/vyvanse/)
As for getting a prescription that will be another challenge entirely. Good luck to you!
Unless you’re under 18, unfortunately not. Vyvanse is currently only approved for children in Japan. I’ve been trying to get it prescribed as an adult graduate student for over 2 years now with no luck (both my Japanese and home country psychiatrists have appealed to the Japanese medical system on my behalf.) We were told that only if I had been diagnosed with ADHD in Japan as a child would it be allowed. Unless you take the maximum daily dose (70 mg), your best bet is to ask your home country psychiatrist to prescribe you a double dose (so two 35 mgs) per day and take one per day for the 6 months (effectively stretching the allowed 3 months into 6 months). You’ll need to apply for an import certificate (Yakkan Shomei) as others have stated. Good luck.
