Hello everyone,
I just moved to Japan and am looking to get into Kyudo as both a hobby and a way to interact with the community. All I can find online is tourist places to “experience” it. Do any of you know of a dojo where I could actually train in the Hiroshima area?
Thank you, everyone!

Well, if you can find a private dojo to take you on then that’s one way. You’d need to purchase all the equipment yourself however.
There are sometimes community centers or city run facilities that offer beginner classes. You could check for those.
This is the Hiroshima kyudo association site. Check there for latest postings for 令和5年

Hirodai has a club in HigashiHiroshima / Saijo that’s gaijin friendly ( or was a few years back..)
Look for your nearest kouminkan/公民館 (Culture Center) many of them offer public classes for Japanese martial arts, including kyudou.
Also, don’t be shy to ask around; I took Kyudo for awhile (in Kanto, unfortunately, not Hiroshima) at my local kouminkan, but I actually got started just because I mentioned off hand to a Japanese coworker that I was interested, and he happened to be friends with the main instructor.
