1. The colors are close to Hogan, but I don’t know if that’s ever been any interaction between them at all & I see a slight resemblance to Tiger Mask yet he isn’t in the Hall of Fame that I’m aware of. Eddie maybe, but that card has been played enough so I am stumped. It’s a good look & Rey has always been ahead of style in his ring gear. Speaking of Eddie, nothing has topped his purple gear from their WCW match that put Lucha on the map in the US.

2. I thought it was Captain Falcon at first

   Edit: Just saw Hayashi’s post. He didn’t outright confirmed it was Muta inspired. Not even Captain Falcon or Viewtiful Joe. He just said it’s “Hollywood Style” which when you look at the details and the materials used in the attire, it’s almost similar to the superhero costumes from Marvel and DC. And as a longtime Muta fan, it honestly doesn’t look like any of modern Muta’s mask. I’m assuming most people don’t really know much about Muta and just associating this with him because of the unusual mask shape. If anything, Rey actually wore a very similar style before in [Lucha Underground](https://deadline.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/rey-mysterio.jpg?resize=627,480) , and parts of the mask were seen before on his Birdman inspired attire on AAA.

3. Maybe but more likely it’s just a new type mask.
   It looks badass! Aggressive and better. AND…..he didn’t seem to need to adjust it as much as other Mania masks!

6. I keep wondering why he was wearing a padded helmet in the match, then I saw the way he hit the Turn buckle and said that’s why. His face also looked to be swollen so I took it as it was more for protection than anything.

13. It even makes him look like old man Muta. Like, Rey isn’t *that* old, but Muta mask makes him look 20 years older.
