Some Questions:

\- Is there any chance I will be able to buy any clothes at all for myself, my brother, and my dad? My brother is 6’3, 190lbs and my dad is 6’0 215. I’m a woman and I’m currently 160 (hopefully 150 by the time I go) and 5’7. My dad wants us to bring him a shirt back and I don’t know if that is going to be at all possible. He wears a US XL. He’s very muscular (especially his arms and shoulder). My brother says he doesn’t mind not buying clothes but I know he’ll be a little bummed if he can’t find at least a single shirt (he’s pretty lanky, just really tall). I’m a bit plumper than I wish I was (specifically in the stomach and thighs) and I’ll be devastated if I cannot find anything to fit me.

\- I’m vegan…I’ve made note of some vegan restaurants in Tokyo and a few in Kyoto…but I’m worried I’m gonna starve to death lol. If need be, I’m open to eating things with dairy and eggs if I absolutely have to so I’m not hungry and out of energy. How do I manage this?

\- Should I get pocket Wi-Fi? A SIM card? Esim (just learned what that is like 5 minutes ago and not sure how to use it lol)??? What’s the best option for Wi-Fi basically?

  1. Oversize clothes are trendy here so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a large enough shirt but it depends on where you go. You can also check out Uniqlo — they carry larger sizes in store and their online shop.

As far as vegan food or anything you are watching to search for and see Google Maps is your best friend. Type in “Vegan” into google maps and it will give you all the places available to you. This also works for cafes, restaurants, museums, etc. Just type a word in maps app and see what comes up.

Kyoto especially has a lot of vegan options and you can also try shoujin ryori. It’s Buddist monk food and very delicious.

    Ains Soph
    Mandaracha
Vegan Ramen Uzu (need reservations – can be done on google maps)
    Veg Out

But yes, there are soooo many vegan options.
