I’m Japanese American and was heavily exposed to the language, culture, and even visited my natural habitat (Japan) to see family multiple times. However, my people are essentially non-existent in my area, and I don’t get to hear the Japanese language besides my mother, anime, and tokusatsu shows like Super Sentai.
I am also a toy collector, and I especially like to collect Japanese toys such as DX Sentai mecha and chogokins. About five years ago, I discovered a Japanese toy channel known as Wotafa’s Secret Base (or just Wotafa), he reviews a lot of the toys that I’m into entirely in Japanese with no subtitles. I am not fluent and I am unable to read Japanese, but I strangely can understand 95% of what he’s saying.
