These are my go-to’s.
I’m not sure what the cooling affect is, but I use LAVA’s “Hot Gel Cream”, a heating cream by a hot yoga studio.
I like that it’s transparent and it doesn’t transfer things that I accidentally bump into.
Not sure if it can be found in normal shops here but tiger balm is good for this.
I found this webpage for tiger balm so it seems like it’s at least distributed in Japan. https://www.iwaki-kk.co.jp/products/for_consumers/item_F00014
Edit: it seems like it’s sold in Welcia so you might be able to find it in usual pharmacies/drug stores: https://www.e-welcia.com/products/detail.php?product_id=151272

I am not sure about creams as I am more of しっぷ kinda guy (as seen in the picture). But i can atleast point you to the right direction.
Menthol is used for cooling so avoid products that have that as the main ingredient.
Look for **capsicum** in the ingredient list- which is written as トウガラシェキス.
I like the pads that self-adhere to your clothing and last all day.
Tiger balm?
