Any way to heat the water before I use it? Powering it on and leaving it never heats the water, feels like I have to run the water for 30 minutes before it engages and starts warming it up.

Gas boilers are on-demand and don’t have a water tank to preheat water. If it’s not working it’s not igniting correctly.
Try turning off that “優先” option. It might be giving priority to the kitchen water or something similar. Or are there two controllers? Maybe the one in your photo is the kitchen water controller, not the shower one.
