PSUs in Japan, any recommendations?

Hey everyone.

My Seasonic is about 9 years old now and is starting to shut down occasionally due to a 3080 I recently acquired. CPU is 5600x. I’m not in Tokyo so going to a store is pretty rough. Just wanted to check if anyone had any suggestions.

I’m mostly looking at 850+ and was thinking of just grabbing a CorsairRMx850/1000.

I’d appreciate any ideas or suggestions. Thank you!

  1. Nowadays probably any PSU from a reputable brand is fine. But in my opinion, why not go for seasonic again? The fact that your PSU is 9 years old and still works says enough about how good their PSUs are. I also got a 1000W 80+Titanium PSU from them off Amazon.

  2. Nothing wrong at all with Corsair. Running an SF750 in my machine and it’s quiet, powerful, and stable.

  3. Got rm550x, 850x, and 1000x at home. Never had an issue with them. They got the 10 years warranty as expected.

Got the 550x with my 1700x on launch day, still running every day without breaking sweat

  4. Check the popular models on kakaku com, and picke the one for you in the top one, they are often the best price/perf/quality deals.

  5. Corsair RMx is my go-to and I think Amazon has them. Otherwise another Seasonic might work out better for you (if the cable matches)

  6. Any decent brand with modular cables will be fine I think. Jump on kakaku.com to find the best price and order online. Make sure to give yourself a little headroom in case of a new GPU needing a bit more juice in the future.

  7. I grabbed a Fractal Design Ion+ off Tsukumo for my build. 80+ Platinum rating for a pretty decent price (at the time was around the same as comparable gold rating stuff) I got the 660W, but pretty sure they go up to 860W.

  8. When my 650 seasonic couldn’t handle my 3080 I just went to Amazon and got a 800w seasonic…
