Change of resident status – Missing documents

A friend applied this morning for a change of resident status (dependent -> humanities) and realized he missed the translation of his degree and a certificate which are in Italian.

Is it possible to go tomorrow to immigration and add the missing translations to the files submitted today? Or will he have to wait until immigration sends a letter requesting it?

Already tried calling the Shinagawa office but seems its already closed for the day.

  1. If you’re missing any documents (and possibly it depends on the mood of the immigration officer), they can still accept what your friend brings the first time and hand you a paper with the missing documents written on it, which can be submitted by whatever date the officer writes on it. At least, I was able to do that the last time I renewed my spouse status
