Any tips or advice about a translating jobs (read it below)

I have a friend who wants to do an internship as a translator in any area.
Do you know any company will accept him as an internet and partially studying?
If you know anyone we can connect my friend with or some super helpful tips or advice it would be much appreciated.

  1. I have worked as a translator both in-house and freelance for over a decade, and I have never heard of a translating internship before. And any company offering something like that would sound shady to me.

  2. Any area… meaning remote? Translations can be done fully remote and I’m sure there are plenty of companies around the world that would love a free translator.

If the question is about moving to Japan to do translation internship… 1) Japan doesn’t really do internships and 2) there is so much supply (of translators) there isn’t really a need for onsite translator internship roles. Most companies that would need intern level skills would just use Tanaka-san who visited the US for 3 months back in 1998. Or Google Translate.

  3. I would be willing to accept him as an internet

Internship? Better be paid. Just look for translation companies and start applying honestly
