I’m currently teaching for an after school program with a mixed group of K3-E4 (but mostly elementary 1st grade). It’s unlike what I’ve been used to because as an ALT I would visit a given school once or twice a week, so every week I was essentially repeating the same game/lesson in different schools.
At this after school program I see the same group of students everyday… I’ve run through all of my games in 5 months.. that had previously been effective for a whole year’s curriculum. I even repeat games twice or three times as review in future months but no more or the kids get tired of the game and want something new.
The classes are only 20 minutes long. Does anyone have suggestions or resources for achievable English time activities? Diversity would be great – it’s getting tiresome to constantly do active games. Some more interesting worksheets or quiz games or even crafts would be great.
