Are the tests in the TODAI Easy Japanese app legit?

Like what I ask in the title, I’ve as of today taken the N5 and N4 there. Of course I’m aware that it’s not an official certification but are the tests comparable to what you’d see on the real JLPTs?

  1. If you just wanted to practice some questions, then it looks fine. Past tests are so accessible that if you wanted an actual gauge, you may as well just use those.

  2. Yes i would say they are pretty close. I wouldnt use them as the only test study, but they are close.

  3. They look to be real previous tests. My experience from solely using this app to do mock tests for N4.

Some of the tests are old. Some questions repeat. The audio quality can be really bad from some of the tests (but not all). Some of the tests didn’t calculate the score correctly. They allow you to rewind and pause the audio. This is not allowed during the Real test.

I did roughly 6 mock tests in preparation of N4. 2 of them I would say were bad. I did end up passing and will continue using this app for the next test.
