I’m moving to Tokyo soon with my Japanese wife and 2 children, both under 3 years old. We have been looking at various suburbs.
Our budget is for a 2LDK up to 16万円 per month.
Our priorities are
1. Child friendly (parks, nature, childcare, family support assistance)
2. Quiet and suburban (less nightlife is ideal)
3. Cheap, but with decent commuting time to Chiyoda (roughly 40minutes to 1 hour).
Based on the above, we’ve narrowed our search to Nerima, Kawaguchi, Toda, or Urawa.
Does any have any insight into any of those areas?
I’ve read that urawa has good public schools. Nerima has nice parks like shakujii park, but I’m having trouble finding more information because most of the English language information I find is targeted at tourists or young singles moving to Tokyo for a party lifestyle.

Tama-ku, great family neighborhood that’s affordable. Odakyu line connects to Chiyoda line and only takes 30min to get to the city.
