Hi guys,
I will be graduating next May with a undergraduate degree in Japanese. I want to study abroad in Japan to further my language learning. I am thinking either for the summer 2024 or Fall 2024 as a self financed applicant. Do you guys have any recommendations?
Few preferences:
1, Kansai region is ideal, but as long as its in Honshu, I am down to go!
2, Preferably at a four year institution. But I am open to new ideas!
3, A program that can help me transition from n3 to n2 (or get close to N2)
4, A program that is not too selective…

I studied at Kansai Gaidai University; I dunno if they do summer programs but they do for fall and spring. It’s pretty famous within Japan for its English program and there are a crazy ton of foreign students + English speaking Japanese students/staff there. So I would say it helps provide a lot of support and you can easily meet Japanese people who want to be around foreigners. But personally, I felt it was too much of an English speaking environment, so I ended up cutting my time there short and switching to a different program. Most people I know though loved their time at KGU.
